I always say, right behind doing makeup, lash lift & tints are my next favorite service to perform on others. Sometimes potential clients have hesitation when it comes to signing up for this service because of some popular myths that are out there. Let’s debunk those so you feel confident getting your lashes done!
MYTH #1: The lash lift & tint process is painful.
Absolutely not! While I have gotten feedback before that the process can feel “different”, “weird”, or “interesting”, I’ve never been told it is painful and it shouldn’t be! If it’s painful, the process should be stopped immediately.
MYTH #2: Lash lift & tints require aftercare similar to lash extensions.
Contrary to popular belief, there is next to no aftercare when it comes to lash lift & tints! Lash extensions require a bit more maintenance since you’re adding false individual lashes to each lash which requires consistent brushing, but with a lash lift & tint, as long as you’re careful with them in the first 24-48 hours, there’s really not much else you need to do besides avoiding waterproof mascara and oil-based makeup removers and cleansers.
MYTH #3: Lash lift & tints don’t last long.
Lash lift & tints last an average of 6-8 weeks! I like to tell clients after their first appointment that we will see where their personal average ends up – some people lean more towards the 5 week mark while other lean more towards the 9 week mark or anywhere in between. As long as you avoid using the oil-based makeup removers and cleansers and waterproof mascara like referenced above, your lashes will stay looking fresh for a good 1.5-2 months! Note that the tint tends to fade before the lift.
MYTH #4: I have to get both a lash lift & tint for it to make a difference to my lashes.
Although I strongly recommend getting both services done at the same time for maximum impact, you totally can get a lash lift by itself or a lash tint by itself if that’s all you’re looking for! This means you would get either the appearance of lifted, curled lashes OR darker, mascara-coated lashes instead of both at the same time. Let’s chat about what option makes the most sense for you!
