I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s time for my annual reflection post where I look back on the beautiful moments and accomplishments that took place this year, both personally and professionally. This was my 13th year as a makeup artist and 7th year working full time and specializing in bridal beauty. Each year that passes feels surreal and I love that no year is exactly the same, just like no client is exactly the same. It lets our creativity, passion for the art, and personality shine through in new ways everyday!

Our team completed 91 weddings this year. Being only 4 less weddings than last year, I was thrilled to see this number as it means we continue to book at a good rate to keep our team busy while still providing a beautiful, personalized experience for each of our clients. I have to give the biggest shout out to each and every person who helped me complete this year successfully. If you’ve been around this year, it’s no secret my husband and I welcomed our first baby boy into the world towards the end of peak wedding season and I quite literally couldn’t have gotten through this year without the incredible people who help make these wedding days special.

We welcomed our first baby. From February on, I continued to work full time until very close to the end of my pregnancy. I learned so much about what my body is capable of, felt so much love from clients understanding when I needed a break in between clients on wedding days, and ultimately felt so empowered welcoming our baby boy into the world! Jordan joined us on October 14, 2023 and our world has expanded ever since. This has to be my biggest personal accomplishment to date.

I worked on more boudoir, maternity, and brand photoshoots. One of my goals this year was to work with some of my favorite photographers more often to provide beauty services to more clients looking to document the special moments in their life or business. I’m happy to say this goal was met and I can’t wait to continue to work with these awesome colleagues more in 2024!

I provided more 1-on-1 makeup lessons and personal makeup shopping experiences. Another goal of mine was to focus more on 1-on-1 makeup lessons and personal makeup shopping experiences, which led to a record year of offering this service and working with so many beautiful individuals that wanted to uplevel their makeup skills. It’s such a unique experience every time and I love for seeing those “aha” moments throughout the process!

This year marked the second year in the studio. I started renting a beautiful commercial space in Middletown, CT back in February 2022, so this year marked almost 2 full years in the space. I continue to slowly but surely add decor which makes it feel more cozy as time goes on and I always love hearing how much people love the space. How could you not love the gorgeous natural lighting and view of the river?! I still hear how the studio “smells new”!

Take a look at our past reflection posts to see how far we’ve come!
