Last year, I rounded out the year by creating a post called, “Reflecting on 2017“. I enjoyed looking back at that recently so much, I figured I would do something similar this year. Welcome to “Reflecting on 2018”!
I networked more.
Networking is something that is absolutely critical to pretty much any business. You need to meet key people in the industry, as well as people just starting out, and everyone in between. Creating relationships with these people helps grow your business because they get to know, like, and trust you and have better tools to refer you, and vice versa. I’ve always been into networking, but this year I took it a step further and jumped out of my comfort zone from the same monthly or weekly meetings I’m used to and explored the unique networking opportunities that presented themselves to me. It’s been well worth it and I have met some awesome people along the way!

I became an LLC.
Becoming an official limited liability company had been on my never-ending to-do list for YEARS. I had been a sole proprietor for all the years prior while building my business. It was about time I bit the bullet and just did it. I found an amazing business attorney to help me get the proper paperwork filed and officially became a LLC in April 2018! On top of this, I had her create a privacy policy which you can find on my website so you can rest assured you’re in a safe place on the world wide web.
I offered more makeup lessons and parties.
Something that really excited me was beginning to offer more makeup lessons and parties to my clients! I cracked down on figuring out how long each session should be, how I want to run them, and the key things my clients need and want to know. These have been SO much fun and I can’t wait to continue them in 2019!
I got certified to do lash lift and tints.
In May 2018, I took a course to become certified to offer lash lift and tints to my clients. I fell in love instantly with the amazing results, as did my clients! It makes their lives easier while I am able to provide another valuable service for them.
I booked more weddings.
Finally, it was another year of growth in the bridal beauty business department. I booked more weddings in 2018 than I have in the past and I’m so excited to implement some new strategies to increase this even more throughout 2019! HUGE thank you to every bride that has trusted me to be a small part of their big day. You truly cannot fathom how much it means to me!!
